MISSION TRIP CHECKLIST
General Matters:
1. A deposit of $200 per group
plus $20 per person expected to come
is required by January 15 to confirm
registrations on a
first-come-first-serve basis. Do not
reserve more than what is
realistically possible. Call to
cancel your reservation as soon as
you know, subject to our
cancellation policy.
2. Cost for each person staying
in the Center is $120. Cost for
chartered bus drivers staying
elsewhere but eating at the Center
is $40 per week.
3. Reservations for the following
year must be given in writing.
Priority will be given for groups
who come every year during the same
approximate week.
4. Shorts and dresses must not come
more than 2 inches (4 fingers) above
the knee. For ladies, no spaghetti
straps, very loose sleeveless
dresses, or bare midsections. Avoid
printed shirts with rude slogans.
Capri pants are fine but no shorts
AT ALL when witnessing in Mexico (1 Cor. 8:12-13).
5. No individual use of any audio
music device is allowed in the
Center, even with headphones.
Before Departure:
1. Arrange your insurance. If you
wish to use Sanborn's Mexico
Insurance, call (956) 546-6644 or
FAX (956) 544-2919 before coming.
Get all insurance before leaving!
Bring a valid driver's license and
the title of your vehicle. 2. On or before the WEDNESDAY prior
to arrival, call First Baptist
Church at (956) 542-5334 with your
estimated time of arrival and the
number of males and females in your
group. 3. Prepare your own VBS materials.
Bring additional Spanish Bibles and
tracts as you may need. 4. Bring sheets and blankets or
sleeping bag, pillow, towels, and
personal toiletry supplies. 5. Train your mission workers to
share Christ. We will witness in
Spanish in Matamoros on Monday. 6. Arrive no later than 6 pm of
Saturday. Call as directed on the
Bookings page otherwise. 7. Publicize your VBS on Saturday
afternoon before supper or after
orientation in the cool of the
evening around 7:30. Canvassing is
the key to getting a good number of
attendees. 8. Plan to eat out Sunday noon for
lunch. |
