We require a reservation of at least 75 people to reserve an entire dorm and at least two Vacation Bible School teams for two different locations in Brownsville.

Groups should arrive on Saturday no later than 6pm and be ready to leave the following Friday after breakfast. No group may stay beyond Friday morning. Publicize your VBS at your site location Saturday before supper or after orientation.

If you cannot arrive by 6pm Saturday, call the church office at (956) 542-5334 no later than 4 pm Friday . For delays after 5 pm Friday, call us at (956) 548-9383.

The cost of $120 per person for the Summer Youth Program includes 6 nights lodging and 16 meals, Saturday evening through Friday breakfast. It excludes the Sunday meal after church. We provide one copy of the Gospel of John per missionary for witnessing in Mexico but feel free to bring more Spanish Bibles and tracts for distribution. Chartered bus driver's meal package only is $40 for the whole week.

Your church will be responsible for your VBS. Be totally prepared before arriving, with all materials printed in advance. Bring plenty of kid attracting flyers, and as this may be the only Bible teaching these kids receive, emphasize Jesus, salvation and the Bible. Prepare for a 2-hour school. We provide "raspas" or sno-cones which the kids look forward to. If you can, arrange a Parents' Night. We will provide a Spanish-speaking pastor if you wish.

Train your mission workers to share Christ. We will prepare you Sunday morning for sharing Christ in Spanish on Monday morning in Matamoros, Mexico. We will furnish some materials needed, but discourage giving candies and toys because Mexico pastors find it harder to evangelize without goodies after you leave.

Use puppets and other suitable VBS materials. Child Evangelism Fellowship, 9724 Skillman St., Garland, TX has good ones. Their phone is (214) 343-3399. Students will be from 6 to 12 years old but some teenagers and preschoolers may join. It's exciting for any child in your VBS to receive a Bible from you after you return home.
